Welcome to the IED Madrid, The University of Creativity, which offers official degree programs in industrial, interior, graphic and fashion design, as well as graduate programs in design, communications and fashion.

Madrid is a multicultural city open to the world, where European and Latin American art, leisure and business converge. Our branches are located in the cultural, artistic, design epicenter of Madrid, in the very center of the city.

There are intensive artistic and cultural activities to enjoy in Madrid. Numerous theaters, cinemas, events and one of the most renowned museum itineraries in the world, including the Prado Museum, Reina Sofía Art Center and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, are waiting for you.

The IED Madrid has two branches in the very center of the city: Altamira Palace, which dates back to the 18th Century, and the Modernist Building at Calle Larra. Two spectacular buildings of great beauty that serve as a nexus for creativity. Over 30 different nationalities make up the IED student body, an enriching multicultural experience in a unique city. We also offer the possibility of studying one semester at design schools throughout the world as well as the rest of the branches in the IED Network in Milan, Rome, Torino, Venice, Florence, Cagliari, Madrid, Barcelona and São Paulo.

The IED Madrid believes workshops as an inherent part of academics. You can create transversal projects in other design disciplines, providing solutions to real problems. Generally, these projects are developed in collaboration with companies in the industry.

The Cultural Area of the IED Madrid brings you the best conferences, events and exhibitions related to the world of design and communications, as well as a complete online cultural agenda and the design magazine Abre el Ojo.

The majority of projects at the IED Madrid are done in collaboration with companies, facilitating contact with the real world. We also offer a Professional Orientation Service once you have completed your studies in order to facilitate your entry into the job market.

The IED Madrid has over 15 years of experience, offering a complete journey through the world of design with our Official Degrees in Design (Product, Interior, Graphic, Fashion), Masters, Specialization Programs, Executive Programs and Summer Courses.

The IED Madrid offers Official Degrees in Product, Interior, Graphic, and Fashion Design with university-level diplomas.

The Degree in Product Design trains you to be a creative professional with knowledge of projects and technology, enabling you to develop products and services for users, keeping in mind their interaction with the environment.

The Degree in Interior Design provides you with the creative, technical, conceptual and visual knowledge necessary to design spaces, keeping in mind the social and accessibility aspects of users.

The Degree in Graphic Design trains you to be a professional capable of successfully developing design projects in various disciplines of visual arts and communications.

The Degree in Fashion Design offers international fashion studies, in both Spanish and English. We will teach you all the aspects and disciplines of the fashion industry, from culture, design and communications to distribution and production.

The IED Madrid offers 1-Year Programs for introduction to fashion communications, held in English, and Total Design, a general vision of the various areas of design. Throughout the program, you will learn about all the fundamental areas of these fields.

The Masters are advanced level academic programs in design and communications that offer direct contact with important companies and institutions in the industry. You will acquire knowledge and skills that will enable you to provide professional solutions to the demands of an increasingly globalizing, evolving market.

The Masters of Design and Innovation are four Masters programs specializing in the design of processes and products, communications and business strategies. They are the most advanced bilingual training (Spanish/English) offered by the IED Master Madrid, responding to the challenges of a global, dynamic society.

The IED Madrid Summer Courses in design and communications run for two or three weeks in the month of July. They will help you complement your training, acquire new knowledge and develop creative skills. As well, you will be able to enjoy Madrid’s great cultural and artistic offering.

As a graphic designer, you will learn how to communicate ideas, facts and values through the visual identity of a company or institution; a product brand; and the visual image of newspapers, magazines and other publications.

You will learn how to create environments and characters through static and dynamic illustration. You will be able to work in advertising, publishing and television, among other creative environments.

You will be trained in the advertising field and strengthen your creativity. You will learn how to design advertisements and campaigns from a conceptual and strategic perspective.

We will provide you with the cultural, technical and methodological foundations necessary for the design of animated graphics, video and special effects.

Creativity, concept and technology will accompany you in your training as a 3D animation designer. You will learn how to create 3D objects, characters and scenarios.

You will develop interactive multimedia products and services (users’ experience), creatively integrating audio, text, image and video for different platforms.

As a website designer, you will learn how to plan, design and implement web content, keeping in mind aspects such as navigability, interactivity, usability and information architecture.

You will learn how to create a brand identity and image, the design and creation of a collection, as well as strategies for fashion communications, distribution and production.

You will design and create high-quality, tailored clothing, with extreme attention to details and finishings. You will become specialized in traditional and artisan techniques, creating excellent designs.

You will become specialized in textile design, knitting design and traditional textile techniques, as well as new technologies applied to textiles, eco-textiles and pattern design. You will learn how to design fashion, accessories and home collections, with a strong focus on textiles.

You will be trained in the design of footwear, bags, jewelry and other fashion accessories based on one single collection philosophy and brand identity.

You will become specialized in the processes of creating and communicating a fashion company’s identity and image, whether it be a brand, publication, store, institution or trade fair.

You will develop the necessary techniques and strategies specific to the fashion industry, acquiring profound visual culture and familiarizing yourself with new channels of communication.

You will learn about all the mechanisms involved in styling and image consulting. You will be capable of detecting the latest fashion trends and adapting them to any product or person with specific image objectives.

You will be trained in the research and development of new strategies and fashion project typologies. You will acquire an overall vision of the fashion industry that will allow you to innovate in all phases of the process: identity and image, design, distribution, production and communications.
